Taliban moves in Kabul

A mosque resembling Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock has been inaugurated in Kabul, funded by the Turkish organization IDDEF and built on the instructions of the Taliban-run interior ministry. The Taliban members hope this $120,000 mosque will contribute to the "liberation" of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Additionally, Hamas cited the "desecration" of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as a justification for their October 7 assault on Israel, naming their rocket campaign "Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge."

While Jews and non-Muslims are allowed to visit the area during specific hours, they are not permitted to pray there, maintaining a long-standing status quo arrangement.

In recent times, Jewish religious nationalists, including members of the governing coalition, have increasingly been visiting the Temple Mount and advocating for equal prayer rights for Jews at the site. This has provoked anger among Palestinians and Muslims worldwide.

Word of the week!

The word for this week is:

extraneous

" ek-STRAY-nee-us

"

Something described as extraneous does not form a necessary part of something else, and may also therefore be considered irrelevant or unimportant (as in “extraneous details”).

The woman who reported the robbery kept bringing up extraneous facts, such as what she'd had for lunch.

Israel - Hamas collateral damage.

The ongoing conflict in Israel has impacted the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), which was announced last month during the New Delhi G20 summit by leaders from India, Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe.Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has characterized the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as the "largest cooperation project" in Israeli history. Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden has lauded it as a transcontinental connectivity initiative that will enhance stability and connectivity in West Asia. Nevertheless, the IMEC's progress has currently entered a phase of uncertainty.

Netanyahu stated on September 12, 2023, "Israel is at the focus of an unprecedented international project that will link infrastructure from Asia to Europe." The ongoing conflict has caused the plan to go off schedule. Click here to read more.
